Sentimental and wonderfully cute. And who doesn't love the fold-out panoramic ending?

Very lovely illustrations and a sweet, melancholy story. Way too mature for my toddler but one that we will read when he is a bit older.

Pretty illustrations--the green palette and the textures of the leaves are lovely. I enjoyed the use of the garden sculptures to tell the story of his grandfather's life.

Love this simple, sweet story. My 4 year old asks to read it over and over and then asks if we can make topiaries about our life. :)

A quiet story of a beloved great-grandfather whose key life events are represented as sculpted hedges. I think this one will grow on me (no pun intended!)

I've shared this book with the pajama story time group a few different times (with different children attending) and it is always a hit with both young and old. I also love the unique illustrations that accompany the grandpa's life story all made out of topiary sculptures.
