Christmas special! This was so fun. This series has really settled into its stride. The characters are SO good. All three of them feel like real people that I could know (and love). The story felt a little more focused and cohesive than the first one, I think because we didn’t have to deal with the characters introductions or backstories. Again, it feels episodic, but in that way that feels homey and comforting, not boring.

Loved it. Excited for the next!

REREAD 2020

Just like with book one, I don't feel like there's anything more to say about this book that I didn't say in the original review. I'm giving it a reread because the last book in the series has been released, and I want to remember everything before giving it a listen.

Keeping the original rating.
---------------------------------
Just like book one in this series, I'm not sure what I think about it! It wasn't bad, or I wouldn't have bought it, but it wasn't screaming good neither.

They're about everyday witches, which I like, but I feel like the author isn't giving this idea what it deserves. These books are short, and I feel like they could have done a lot more with the ideas here, the characters.

I did listen to it in one day, though, most of it in one sitting, so I will be buying book 3, if only to finish the series (so far)

Original rating: 3/5 stars

Not quite as good as the first in the series, Cornell still manages to capture the imagination and expand upon his world of magic and intrigue. I would be happy to read many more novellas written in this setting.

Fantastic! The first was fun but this was excellent story packed into a short space. Also hilarious in parts, and creepy in others. A bit a English villiage mystery, with some very feminine witchcraft of a more peaceful kind, chaotic and delightful fairies, and a touch of Lovecraftian horrors. Just really so great.

Okay, the story has double-down on the weakening of the boundary. Very interesting.

Also, the way that the weakenings were enacted was quite horrific.

I really didn't know where it was going...but Wow!
