This was great, mostly because the heroine, while self-sacrificing, is not absurdly so - she’s made her choices and she’s comfortable with them - and at the various points when the hero is a complete asshole, she

. The overarching plot is completely ridiculous (

the hero’s brother is in fact in love with the heroine’s crippled sister; the heroine is working herself to the bone to afford the operation in America which will allow her sister to walk again

) but so what?
