5 stars. I have no idea how he does it, but every book I have read of TJ Klune’s has made my heart flutter and comforted my soul. I absolutely loved Ravensong - which I am gobsmacked about because I was not excited to read a book from Gordo’s perspective. Unlike Wolfsong, which is more linear in its romance, Ravensong explores a love which has been battered over time. We learn more about the history of the Green Creek wolf pack and therefore get a newfound understanding of Gordo’s hesitancy towards the pack. I particularly liked how Klune was able to show some characters in a completely different light - what I thought I knew about them from Ox’s perspective was challenged and expanded. There was so much depth to every single one of the characters and I am honestly so excited to see how the series continues.

I don't even like "choose me" trope because You (the character) don't have to beg to be chosen, you're already more than enough as is (usually) . Yet, I was completely understanding where each side was coming from. What I wouldn't have given for a Mark POV. all the time that was lost! *sobs* Gordo... Gordo... Gordo.... also everytime the narrator goes
"he said....
he said..."
I love that soooooo much. This damn family. Carter is my favorite I think... not that I don't love them all but Carter just makes me laugh. As well as team human *everyone slowly turns to look at him* lololol their interactions bringing much needed levity to the situations.
I also very much called
Robert Livingston getting someone pregnant. I think he had said his mother? cause she had gone away for a "few months" and then came back. I however... was a little surprised by it being the timber wolf near the end! (makes sense though cause Gordo had said "his muddy brown eyes" had looked familiar but then of course immediately forgot about it because they were in the middle of some shit)
fuck these parents for not giving any instruction about things that their children might come into contact with. Ox's dad sucked, his mom was good but Gordo's parents did the same thing! yeah mom could only do so much but still she didn't specify anything just kept ambushing him with different things that ultimately led to nothing.

Marty!! Being somewhat to Gordo, what Gordo was to Ox <3

I do love the story and all characters!
I will definitely read the other ones in the series, but my motivation slipped away quickly even though there was a lot of tension. I would have loved to have more tension/ spice between Gordo and Mark and less of the “story”. Surprising end!

I will start by sayinf that I did not enjoy this one quite as much as the first one, but mostly because I wanted these two dummies to over themselves and kiss for most of this book. The angst and separation of the first book felt hard-earned but this one a little less so. But I am enjoying the writing style and the narration of the audiobooks and the way the larger plot continues forward is still gripping and makes me interested in the next book even more so than the romance.
