Really loved this book. It kept me interested right from the start and the relationships in the book were really well developed. I enjoyed the building and falling of the rider’s relationships, as well as the dragons and their riders as well.

It was 3 stars for me most of the way through, until the ending. I know I am an outlier on this book.  It did not grab me like it did for most everyone else.  It felt more YA than adult to me.  I often forgot the characters were in their 20s and thought they were teens.  I also thought it was way too long.  However I loved the dragons and the ending hooked me.  I will most likely be on the bandwagon in November reading the seco

Wow…. Fourth Wing definitely lives up to its hype. I absolutely loved this book. It’s so hard to find good dragon books where the dragons aren’t the enemy. Freaking LOVE Violet, and her love interest.

My only disappointment and it’s not really that disappointing. But it’s the fact that I basically guessed what was gonna happen. But that didn’t take away from how good the story was.

Flew through this book every time I picked it up, and loved every moment of this ride. Cannot wait for book 2!!!!!

Although the book is paced in a way that could be engaging, I found it re-used some of the worst tropes from other dragon rider books in a way that they were criticized for in the past and didn’t do anything new. I was nearly a did not finish because i couldn’t connect with the story, but people told me it got better. I am not sure if it did get better, it just got more!

I can see what the author was going for here but some of the descriptions were just not for me. This was way too long for what it was and the world building was clunky and didn't follow its own rules. The magic was confusing, the military branch was confusing and reckless at best, the bond between humans and dragons made zero sense.

I did give some extra points because when I got to the last fourth of the book the battle scenes were actually well written, except for when the author stopped to insert the fact that the love interest was just so hot, because that is exactly what most of us think about when we're at risk of plummeting to our death. Honestly, if she had scaled back on how "astonishingly hot" how "gets you into trouble and you like it hot" the love interest was I would have enjoyed the book more. It was predictable and the language it used was weird. Really, how many times can we describe something as bad ass before it starts to get old?

Finally an actual slow-burn enemies-to-lovers that delivers! This book is not a masterpiece, it’s full of (actually well used) Thorpes- but it works! most of the plot points are predictable and the magic system isn’t very complex, but what a fun book! Even though all that this book is a joy, I haven’t have this much fun reading in years.
Highly recommend for everyone, it’s a great book to get into fantasy through.

5 stars is not enough stars - I loved this book! I haven’t felt like this about a book since ACOMAF. I loved everything about it! It was funny, sexy, exciting, tense!

I think Violet might be my favourite FMC ever - she is so badass and cunning. Her banter with the different characters was amazing and I loved her resilience as she persevered with a chronic illness. The romance and sexual tension with Xaden was perfection! The spice was HOT!

But the dragons… I am so in love with Tairn and Andarna. I laughed so many times at their dialogue, and Andarna is so cute she needs to be protected at all cost! I cannot wait for the second book - and here comes my book hangover…
