Sidebarred by Emma Chase Audiobook Review
Novella. Does not stand alone.
I thought Sustained by Emma Chase couldn't get any better. I was wrong. The addition of Sidebarred as an extended epilogue novella to both Sustained and the Legal Briefs series as a whole could not have been more satisfying and enjoyable. With Sebastian York again as the narrator, it just made Jake Becker even more amazing.

It's a few years after Sustained and we are catching up with Jake, Chelsea and the kids, and seeing how the family is doing. I'm so happy to say they are doing great. The kids are adjusted and Jake and Chelsea are happier than ever. We get a review of what is going on with each child, as well as glimpses of the other couples from the series. It seems like they have adjusted so much, they can handle any curveball, and any remaining fears are handled brilliantly by Jake, who has become a helluva dad. When one more curveball hits the couple, it just makes them even better.

There are so many emotional moments in this book! I cried, I laughed, and ran the gamut of emotions in just a couple of short hours.
"This isn't what we planned."
I cup her beautiful face in both hands. "I didn't plan on you, Chelsea. Or them. And for as long as I live, you will be the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Reading about Jake braiding a little girl's hair one minute, and being all macho the next made me swoon the whole time. His love for Chelsea and the kids left NO room for doubt.
"I’m not good with flowery, romantic kind of words. But she makes me wish I was. Because she’s more than my wife- more than the owner of the pussy that has me so very whipped. She’s my love, my home, the solace to my soul, the keeper of my heart, the center of my entire fucking world."

The epilogue was one of my favorites ever. Seriously, Sidebarred was such a gift to the readers of The Legal Briefs series.

Sidebarred is steamy, funny, heartwarming, emotional and a perfect end to a favorite series. Emma Chase proves once again why she is the queen of the male point of view.

Rating: 5 Stars, 4.5 Heat, 5 Narration

This was the perfect conclusion to a great series. I loved that the end filled in where everyone was.

I will NEVER get enough Jake Becker and those kids. I think that Emma Chase could do nothing but write books about them from now on and she would still be one of my all-time favorite authors.
I think that I cried no less than 4 times while reading this book and it's only pages!! Fortunately they were happy tears and when I wasn't crying I was either laughing or swooning over Jake and all of his awesome. It doesn't hurt that Stanton, Sophie, Brent and Kennedy make a few appearances and you get to see what they've been up to as well.
The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it means that the series is really over, and frankly I'm just not ready to let it go.

WHAT A CUTE STORY!!!
I loved this book. Jake. Chelsea. The kids. More babies. What more could I ask for.
Honestly these kids are the most adorable. Jake and Chelsea love each other. So. Much. I can’t even.
Honestly read this book.
I want 6 kids right now.
