one of the most sweet reads of my year that utilized excellent foreshadowing and damn-near seamless weaving of plot devices. i fell in love with these characters and despite having finished only a few minutes ago, i already miss them❤️❤️❤️

Just wow!!! I loved this book since I opened it up and read the quote on the first page. I knew this book was going to be something great and it delivered just that and more. Just wow!! This had made it on my all time favorites list. I loved the twist on aztec/Mayan culture. I love the aspects of dia de los muertos and how spirits rather brujx or an outsider worked. Just amazing!

I had the amazing opportunity to get an ARC of this book, and I am in love with it. I laughed, I cried, and I loved reading this book. It is definitely one of my favorite books of all time.

I loved this book
At the start it was a bit slow for me, but when Julian was introduced I had the time of my life
I loved Julians character very much
Also the plottwist at the end?! Had die niet zien aankomen
Furthermore, there are a lot of important topics discussed
Yadriel who feels like he has to prove that he's a brujo because his family doesn't accept that he is transgender and therefore a boy, and the prejudices people have about Julian
but because its discussed in a lighthearded way the book doesn't feel so heavy
