Just finished the second book from the Hush Hush series, it was pretty boring, except the ending was a bit shocking. Nice, but boring. I did not like how Marcie was inserted in the picture, I did not approve of her being around Patch. I still cannot formulate a solid opinion on this book, because I still have got two books to read.

Okay, if the purpose of this book was to cause me to hate practically every character, except Vee, then mission accomplished. Honestly, this entire book was frustrating as hell and constantly made me want to throw it against the wall. The only saving grace was the last fifty pages. If it weren't for the last fifty pages of this book, when it finally got interesting then I would have given this two stars.

I really am very sad because I absolutely loved the first book. I did. I loved Nora, I loved Patch, and I loved Nora and Patch. I thought it was a little disappointing that he could never feel her touching him or kissing him, but it was good all around.

But this book was based solely on people not communicating with each other. If Patch and Nora had the conversation they had at the end of the book, at the beginning of the book instead, the whole book might as well have been tossed. Most of it was garbage. It was practically Nora bitching about missing Patch and being angry that he wouldn't apologize to her when SHE was the one who broke up with him and said all these nasty things. This made me hate Nora.

Then, I started to hate Patch because of the whole Marcie love triangle thing, which was bull crap. I did, however, suspect what was going on with Marcie and Patch since the beginning. It was pretty darn obvious. Same with the "mystery" man at the end who ends up trying to kill her (I won't say to prevent spoilers). Everything was obvious and predictable.

So overall this book was a complete disappointment. I will admit that I had a bad feeling about it from the beginning. I just had a feeling it wasn't going to be anywhere near as good as the first, and boy was I right. The whole book was truly frustrating and all it left me feeling is hatred and bitterness toward characters I loved in the first book. Then, and THEN, it had the nerve to leave off with a cliffhanger. Really?!? Oh well, I'll read the next one and at least it's the last one in the series. I just hope it's good because this was crap compared to the last book. Literally, NOTHING happened but teenage drama until the last fifty pages of the book. No kidding. Oh well, at least it's over with.

So, I kind of enjoyed Hush, Hush, but in the "it's kind of awful, but highly entertaining" kind of way. Which it was. The story was so eye-roll worthy, Nora was awful and Patch was awful, but I kind of enjoyed it, even if it was a blatant rip-off of Twilight. So, of course, I was going to further my amusement by reading Crescendo.

Crescendo.... wasn't that great. It was still awful, but it lacked the full on entertainment that I received while reading Hush, Hush. It was still following a (very obvious, but a little more unique this time around) plot that was skimmed off of Twilight, but somehow, it was more boring this time around.

Patch didn't show up as much. Last time, he had the excuse of being a fallen angel so I could at least sort of tolerate him being a dick. Now, he's just a dick and there's no excuses. But, Nora. God Jesus, Nora. I try to remember all the awful shit she said about Marcie, and like, Nora, hello, you're nasty. Besides, all the slut-shaming she does (which is pretty much how she talks about Marcie all the time), she's one of those protagonists where we try to portray her as some sort of nerd and she's really smart and kind of superior, but she does absolutely nothing but incredibly stupid shit. All the time. She does not commit one smart act throughout this entire book.

I don't even want to talk about Scott. I want to pretend Scott didn't happen.

The ending was also ho hum.
Marcie's dad/Nora's real dad who she angst-ed over for the majority of the book turned out to be the Black Hand. SURPRISE. ...But, not really.
I'll probably read the rest of the series, but, man, someone needs to stop beating Nora in the face with the stupid stick. She's one of the most idiotic protagonists I've ever read, and she either needs to shape up or the plot better blow up in a blaze of glory to keep it interesting.

Liked this one a little bit more than the 1st book. 3,5 - 4 stars. Still not quite sure if i like the main character - Nora.

Peor que el primero, la historia es mucho más lenta y me aburre. Por lo demás esta de locos.

Well. If I found Hush, Hush a bit 'young' and bit holey, then Crescendo didn't really improve my opinion. The main plot is rather slow going, but not so bad that it makes you lose interest, but the sub plots with Nora are just kind of painful. Her school life and her going out. Eurgh. It isn't the plot or the writing, it is actually Nora.
Nora is - without doubt - the most stupid person that I think I have ever had the misfortune to read about. If she doesn't die at some point, then she is extremely bloody lucky because the girl just doesn't have an internal danger warning. She is just so oblivious to anything outside of her own teenage issues that she just bumbles through her dangerous life without a care.
"Oh Patch isn't talking to me, of course, this cannot be because in the wider scheme of things that DO NOT INVOLVE ME he is trying to protect me, or to help me.. it must mean he is sleeping with my arch enemy - who I will continue to slag off but still continue to speak to regularly Oh there is a guy who gives me the creeps, seems to have intense anger problems and has a shady past, but I will continue to go out to remote places with him entirely alone because I'm a grown up who can make my own decisions."

ALL THIS BUT I JUST CANNOT STOP READING THESE BOOKS. I finished Crescendo this afternoon and I am already half way through book 3. Don't look to me review reader, I can't explain it. I just. Do. Not. Know.

Meha gustado, no tanto como el primero peor ha sido bueno. Me desespero un poco que Patch estubiera tan distante pero al final se explica porque.
