I found the idea of Mrs. Marple adjusting to modern society intriguing, but at the beginning she seemed a little unlikeable to me. I also found she was in so little of the story, it felt a little disjointed. This is the first Agatha Christie novel I've read and I don't read a lot of mystery/whodunnits but I found the pacing a little odd and the ending abrupt. There were also an unbelievable amount of coincidences which felt like a plot device to ensure there were as many possible suspects with interesting motives. I did find the mystery itself interesting, and hadn't guessed it until right before it was revealed. I liked Marina and her husband's characters, and the little snippets we see of life in this small town.

Sebbene fossi già a conoscenza del finale, essendomi capitato anni fa di guardare il film tratto proprio da questa avventura di Miss Marple, il libro è stato a dir poco coinvolgente e appassionante... Come qualunque scritto di Agatha, d'altronde.
