Requires a strong stomach at times. I appreciated Kean’s approach to each account in that he doesn’t lead the reader to think in black and white terms; these scientists and experimenters committed awful, horrific acts but it doesn’t negate the good they did elsewhere. And the good they did doesn’t excuse the bad. He even discusses how or why some of the folks did what they did, how they could convince themselves their acts were reasonable or necessary or worth the ends, but Kean never advocates for or excuses them.

I’m very much enjoying Kean’s books.

Loved that each chapter was a new story. Each one provided an interesting perspective to reflect on. The connections that the author made to futuristic problems is a sci-fi reality in our future.

This book is like listening to the podcast. It seems like more of an ad for his podcast than anything else. I didn’t enjoy it. It was definitely written with bias.
