Big fan of the review that opens with 'this is fucking bananas' we are kindred spirits that is correct this is the play that has people raise eyebrows because it's supposed to be set in ancient Greece but that's a lie it very clearly takes place in camelot and you can tell by all the knights riding about jousting and so forth it seems to me the guy who wasn't Shakespeare that wrote that section just wanted to write one of the barmier chapters of Le Morte D'Arthur but then why on earth plonk it into 5th century bc Greece and call it Pericles? A character uses a tennis-court metaphor? Now I am no classicist but I am pretty sure that comes under the label of 'fucking bananas'

Nevertheless!
This thing has a ridiculous number of characters too it's like the early seventeenth century acting union got together and said right you have to write a play for thirty characters or else and so we have appearances from fishermen and nuns (briefly, calm down) and many sailors probably an octopus I forget.

Despite the fact this makes no sense at all it's kind of amusing for that. Could while away an afternoon.

I trod upon a worm against my will, but I wept for't

At first I wasn't a fan of the play because I found the pace too inconsistent. However, by the end, everything was wrapped up neatly. I enjoyed the characters and darker plot points that underpin the play
