"He has a point. It hasn’t been lost on me, a walking encyclopedia of Christmas, that his name is the same as Scrooge’s business partner in A Christmas Carol. I admire Jacob’s parents for the bold holiday name choice, which clearly has gone over my friends’ heads."

All I Want for Christmas surprised me by how much fun it was! I went into this with zero expectations but had a really great time. The story follows Bailey, a teen girl who works in a bookshop and is a love of all things Christmas, no matter how cheesy it is! I loved her enthusiasm for the season, her connection with her siblings and her witty commentary, it was easy to like her. Her main love interest is Jacob Marley (yes really), a popular guy from school who might have a hidden heart of gold. There's another guy Bailey is eyeing, but a lot of focus is on her and Jacob growing closer together. I really liked their chemistry, Bailey's hopeful, romantic nature balanced out Jacob's grump well! The end has a bit of a sudden magical twist -
namely, that her second love interest is actually a guardian angel sent to help her and very much not a romantic prospect
- but I didn't mind it too much!
