It's a Great ending to the series, and Daine fully comes into her own, as always with TP the writing is so engaging and the characters are unique and deep, but I did enjoy the younger Daine more than mature Daine. Still the story and the ending is so satisfying, as usual and reading it feels like a little holiday. There is a lot to be said for knowing when you pick up a book, that it will end well, that you’ll enjoy the journey and the characters and that there won’t be any real cruelty to deal with.

I had a bad feeling the main character (16) would develop a romantic relationship with the mentor/friend (early 30s).

Lovable, but felt rushed/compacted. Hated the ending and the weird May/December relationship. Cameo at the end made me sob. I'll miss Tortall! Series is easily a 4 overall for lovability and ingenuity and nostalgia.

This final book in the series was more mature in its themes than the last three. That being said, this was a creative world and I’d imagine it would be enjoyed by teen readers. Great series!
