Almost DNFd because it was slow moving but the quality of writing kept me going and I'm GLAD I did. The last 50 pages of this book are beautiful. Writing made me laugh, cry, and feel all the feels.

I raced through this, and will recommend it widely. It was a complex portrayal of mental health struggles in a way I hadn’t read before. Mason’s lack of glorification and over-dramatisation, alongside her decision not to put the diagnosis at the centre of the book was a very compelling approach. Her characters were very believable, and I enjoyed that I didn’t love or hate any, but I understood where they were all coming from. A very fair portrayal of relationship dynamics. Her restraint from adding and relying on unnecessary plot points to drive the novel really stood this book apart from books with similar premises that I’ve read.
