Bobby Drake says and does all things I would do and say if I had ice powers. He's such a relatable character for those of us in our late twenties/early thirties (which is how I'm interpreting his age, but I could be wrong).

I was looking for something casual to read and found the chance to jump into this one. As much as I understand why Bobby Drake is angry and losing his temper because he is trying to come out and live to his true self, the story just felt very flatlined for me. Almost as it they were trying to "teach" me soemthing rather than showing me a story and trying to reach my own conclusions.

This is a lot of fun. I have never read a comic with Iceman in it so it has been a good introduction to the character. I like how each issue has a lot of action, but it still leaves time to deal with character development and Bobby's interaction with the other characters. They are bringing in the LGBTQ+ elements in a really nice/realistic way, without making the issues entirely about that.

Review for the entire series:

Feels like very middle of the road in terms of art and writing. Sina Grace does most of what is given to him both in terms of Marvel editorial, and how Iceman has been written throughout the decades. There are a few neat moments here and there, and it's nice to see Bobby interact with Kitty Pryde, but it's nothing out of the world. Iceman has never been an interesting or funny character for me, and this series did nothing to help with that perception.

Bobby is my favourite of the original X-Men and this series is doing him justice. It gives us a glimpse behind the ice puns and jokes at the man Bobby has become. Can't wait to read the rest.
