¡Hola, mi gente! Today I'm back with a review of a middle-grade graphic novel that I expected to truly enjoy but sadly I didn't.
Oddly Normal is about a girl named, you guessed it, Oddly Normal. She's a half-witch with green hair and pointy ears that do not fit in in her school. She has no friends and is constantly getting bullied. But what happened when her parents vanish and she has to move to the one place that her mother said she shouldn't go? This is her story. It sounds interesting, right? Well, it wasn't. Practically nothing happened in this story and honestly, it was just... boring. The characters were boring, the plot was boring, and you knew who was the villain the moment you met them which took away from the thrill of wondering who was the villain. Honestly, everything about this story was bland. It pains me to say this because it's an arc—thank you Edelweiss and the publisher for this arc. Also, I am not THAT bad with arcs and I know this came out 5 years ago but I JUST got the arc—but it was just so damn boring.
The art of the world and the creatures that live in it was great but the art of the main characters was just meh.
I am giving this book two stars and that's only because I don't hate the book. Do I recommend it? I hate to say it but no.
Rating: ⭐⭐

Be careful what you wish for...
Oddly Normal is 10 years old. And half a witch. She's anything but normal. On her birthday she wishes her parents would just disappear. When her wish comes true she and her auntie has to go to Fignation to find a way to bring everything back to normal...
I can't put in words how much I enjoyed this book! This was fun AND with a deeper meaning. Oddly wishes to be normal. In real world she's the freak with green hair and pointy ears. But when she goes to Fignation she is still the odd one out.
I really want to ad this to my bookshelf!

Nice piece for older children, art very relatable for fans of Cartoon Network. Really need Vol 2 and on to make more sense of the story. Good addition to the library.
