This book is exactly what the synopsis suggests and it's magnificent. The entire concept of this book is intriguing and gripping, and the actual narration of the plot is damn near perfect.
The character development of the main character, Molly, is flawless. The way she grows and interacts with this strange but unavoidable condition felt incredibly authentic. The science-fiction element isn't overdone, but enough to provide an explanation of how Molly came to be. And the round-about conclusion of the story was something I couldn't fault if I tried.
Tade Thompson is an author I have wanted to pick up for a long time, and I highly implore any reader who is curious to not delay picking up his work.

I was kind of expecting more from this book. I really liked the concept, but I feel like it was just executed in a weird way. With that being said, I kind of want to re-read it because I was very confused at the beginning and maybe if I understood the beginning better, I would like the rest of the book more, it's also very short so it's not that big of a commitment to re-read it. Anyways, I thought the writing style was very distinct, and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but I think it fit the atmosphere of the book. I don't read very many sci-fi books so it was nice to read something new, but I just feel like it wasn't very memorable. I would recommend it though for a starter sci-fi if you want to ease yourself into the genre.

I LOVED this book. It's so strange and amazing and I kind of want to read it again. I checked this out from the library, and I will definitely be buying my own copy. I guess I would classify this as part horror, and part sci-fi. This is definitely a page-turner, and I think the characters were great. There are some good dark moments, and some heartbreaking ones as well. There are so many different intriguing plot points packed into this book, and I think it would be a great buddy read or book club book (for a group on the darker side). I'm so glad I picked up this book, and I hope to read more from Tade Thompson soon.

Excellent story concept pulled off in the precise amount of length needed. The plot drives forward with ever-escalating stakes, equally bleak and bold. Definitely an evenings-worth of your time.
