Interesting premise. Weird ending but over all a good short read!

I liked the story and it is a fast read because it is a novella. The story is different from anything else I have read .

Forget about the presents beneath the tree—this was an absolute BOMB. (#decemberofficiallythebestmonthever) 2022 might’ve been the lousiest year spent fusing my butt to my bed but hey, at least the goodreads algorithm is making amends with all this LIT thrillers!! (The recs are ON POINT)
Who cares about that contemptible, atrocious ending (reminiscent of all Studio Ghibli works - @miyazaki I demand an explanation on all things Ponyo) which came as a bolt out of the blue?
I do actually - do you, after all the emotions I invested into this, expect me to just make peace with that???
Uh…how bout a big, fat, resounding NO.
If this ever made it into the cinemas, I can already see ‘box office flop’ inching its way into the camera in Arial font size 90 - bolded and all.
But the gore. Just from that alone, the balance of the universe has been restored.

This is such a cool premise and I was enthralled for the entirety of the story. It suffers from being a novella, this begs for more chapters and more story. it felt like we are just getting to the meat of the story when it ends. I have so many questions! I want more!
