A quick read: a weird little novella about a girl who creates doppelgangers every time she bleeds. Wild but good.
3.5 - Very intriguing story, but there are so many questions that went unanswered.
The Murders of Molly Southbourne is an enjoyable read. The concept works especially well in the novella format, as it doesn't overstay its welcome. Thompson makes his points concisely and moves on. This gives the story a lot of emotional weight very early which really pays off.
The symbolism is a bit on the nose, but because of how short and to-the-point Thompson is, it doesn't really feel like the story is condescending or trying to hold the readers hand. This is definitely a testament to the novella format and Thompson's ability to convey a theme quickly.
Definitely one of the better contemporary horrors I've read and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre.

I don't know what I expected, but it was not this.
Malauradament no he acabat d'entrar mail dins del relat.
I absolutely loved this. Quick and short, but packs so much of a punch. I really love when authors take bizarro concepts and explore the emotional depths and humanity in it. This was eerie and weird, but tackled topics like identity, violence, obsession and paranoia. Highly recommend this little novella. So glad this was my last read of 2020.
