Although only my third Stephen King book, I'm fast starting to love his work!
This was more disturbing than frightening for me, and I eagerly devoured the chapters needing to know what happened next.
I can completely understand why, after writing this, the author put it away in a drawer as he had gone 'too far'. I would be frightened at having where I'd managed to come up with the idea from!!
The writing itself is excellent, and I love how he hides little 'Easter eggs' of his other works in his books. I also like the way he manages to take the reader into the characters' heads by way of a running commentary.
I did spend the last part of the book hoping against hope that we were in one of the characters' dreams as had happened earlier in the book, regardless, I did think it had a really good ending.
I can see this one being up there as one of my favourite ones by the author.

I know it is a horror book, but the horror felt secondary to the human emotions highlighted in the story.
