Wonderful stories each with gorgeous colour illustrations. Would recommend this edition of the book to anybody unfamiliar with these fairy tales.

Tahle knížka mě vrátila zpátky do dětství, spoustu pohádek už jsem znala, ale i tak jsem si to moc užila.

Book 144 out of 200 books
"Selected Fairy Tales" by Hans Christian Andersen

Hans Christian Andersen's most well-known children's stories are collected in this Collins Classics volume titled "Selected Fairy Tales".

MY THOUGHTS:
I liked "The Nightingale" story in this book, it is my favorite. This is the type of book I'd read to my future children. But also, Andersen remains monumental in the foundation of Danish literature, as well as children's literature.

Just an alright classic short stories read! I plan to keep this book for when I have children one day to read them the classic stories of well known fairy tales, such as, The Snow Queen, The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid, and more. Some stories were better than others but I enjoyed reading these stories for myself even if it felt like it dragged on.

Huh... some of these fairytales are tough to read even as an adult. It’s weird when thinking that HCA stories were always my favorite as a child.
