Beautifully written. I loved how he switched into a more broken stream of thought once grief struck. It conveyed how his life was disrupted and how grief was treating him.

Very surprised to see that this is fiction.

It was a privilege to be able to read this book, to exist at the same time as Ocean Vuong. Within the first twenty pages, I already knew this was my new favourite novel of all time. Each word was incredibly purposeful. I felt like my heartstrings were constantly being pulled by the words I was reading. Ocean Vuong- you are a soulful genius

Holy talented. This author has an amazing way with words. I feel like I just kept highlighting amazing line after amazing line. It’s an Incredibly sad story so you have to take many breaks. It’s not a happy story. But it’s Ocean’s story and it’s a story we all need to hear. Bravo!
