Another winner by Christina Lauren, featuring not-quite enemies to lovers with an only-one bed trope. Ethan and Olive are the only two members of a large wedding party who don't get food poisoning, and are convinced to take the honeymoon together, as a vacation. While there, they discover that hate is a passionate emotion that is rather close to love. They clear the air on their history, and discover some secrets being held. Both of these cause problems back home.

While there is a food poisoning subplot, the graphic depictions of vomit and vomiting were way over the top.

No chemistry, cardboard hero... it irked me but I was not sure why so I checked some other reviews. They confirmed what I suspected, so I am done.

I’m usually not one to gravitate towards rom-com’s but this book was recommended by a friend and boy was I pleased. This book was such an enjoyable story that had me giggling like no tomorrow. I loved following along Olive and Ethan’s journey and seeing how their unlikely pairing blossomed on this unexpected vacation!

This book featured some of my favorite romance tropes - only one bed, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and fake dating/fake marriage. This book is a nice escapist romantic comedy book. This is a book that is a perfect palate cleanser type of read as a break after reading a heavier book and had me smiling when reading.

There is plenty of banter and back and forth in this book. This is a humorous and witty read. There is plenty of symbolism and also the use of metaphors in this novel. The disagreement between Ethan and Olive was a pretty significant event in the book, but seemed to be resolved fairly easily near the end of the novel. No spoilers here, you will just have to read the book if you want to know.

I like a happy ending and HEA in my romance and rom-com genre reads. I did get satisfaction in the ending in terms of Ami and Dane's relationship and also with Ethan and Olive. I enjoyed the epilogue at the end which leads into the audiobook of the The Honeymoon Crashers which I have borrowed from the library for listening.

Your average enemies to lovers romance, this book was okay but was still pretty generic fluff. I did love Ethan and olives banger but nonetheless the tropes in this book are just way too overdone so it wasn’t something new to read.

I also kind of hated how
their happiness relies on olives twin ami having to suffer during and after her wedding due to finding out Ethan’s brother she just married was a cheat and that she got food poisoning at her own wedding !

Overall I’d recommend it as a light beginner rom-com as it’s fade to black with enough basic tropes but I won’t be keeping my copy.

Enemies to lovers. Olive and Ethan hate each other. But who can pass on a free honeymoon trip when their siblings cannot go.
I adored the jabs at each other, the intentionally saying the wrong names. The Harry Potter references. The cute aw moments that we all saw coming.

My only issue with this book is it was so predictable I was able to put it down for a month and resume without  the urge to read what was going to happen next. I would’ve been content never finishing. But it was a good book.
