I loved it, I couldn't stop reading until I finished it, it was an addictive read. I really liked the narration, and the depth of the main character.

Yunjae has spent his life with alexithymia, a condition that prevents him from feeling or identifying emotions. While this doesn’t make him sad or directly affect his day-to-day, it has shaped how he navigates the world. His mother even had to teach him what a life-threatening situation is and how to react, something both hilarious and a little heartbreaking. This unique way of life, combined with a cruel pivotal event, leads Yunjae to make his first friend and discover the importance of human connection.

This is a bittersweet story that explores not just how someone without emotions navigates life, but also how society itself can feel emotionless as well. It’s a reminder that being different is okay and that there’s comfort in finding others who are different too.
To accept others, we must first accept ourselves and understand that our perception of people is our own responsibility and we're all deserving of connection.

I saw parts of myself in this book. While I don’t have alexithymia, I do experience anhedonia as a side effect of comlex PTSD. Like Yunjae, I often find myself unsure of how to act in certain situations, feeling guilty for having to "fake" excitement when others share their good news. People sometimes tell me I seem indifferent or like I wasn’t listening, but I do care deeply. I just process and express emotions differently, almost like I could use sticky notes to guide me, just like Yunjae.

A cozy but complex read, as it touches on human emotion and a condition I don't really understand and never fully will. Heart-breaking and heart-warming, both at the same time.

This book was a little ableist buuuuuut it still kept me on the edge of my seat. I was constantly worried for the main character and the writing was very pleasant. It is pretty graphic with the violence but I understood why it was so explicit.
