A good book but too graphic and tragic for my little sensitive heart

I really loved this book. The story was really interesting, and although sad at many parts, it still had a hopeful outlook. The writing was really engaging, but there were a few parts that were too descriptive that lost me. I really loved the ending and how it all tied together.

Interesting topic and narration - a much different emotional response to the story than expected by having it narrated through the eyes of Yunjae. Intense ending was unexpected. Author’s note was insightful.

I see why 남준 and 윤기 liked this book. I see both of them in it. Should have written the review sooner though, my links are starting to blur but again it was still interesting to see, throughout my reading, two of my favorite people “reflected” in this story.

Contrary to what I heard from some people, I thought the author did a good job of telling a story through someone who cannot feel emotions without making it seem lifeless. Not the most memorable book but still one that will stick with me, I think.

It was fast paced, emotional, shocking at moments.
I had no idea the book was going to take such a sharp turn with the grandmother dying and the mother falling in a coma. (The foreshadowing was there but the violence involved in all of it was shocking.

Loved the ending-- it was maybe too perfect but it is a YA book.  The friendship between the two main characters was fun to read about.
