I’d give it like a 3.6
Super easy, short, and enjoyable read, but the ending feels a bit unsatisfying. It ends too cleanly in contrast to the rush of events at the final part and given Yunjae’s condition, I had different expectations for how his and Gon’s story would end. Maybe I was looking for a different ending because the story reminded me of an abrasive “Gon”-like person I’d met before but didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to.

I remember reading a review of this book that stated even if yunjae wasnt able to feel, the reader was feeling everything for him. This book is about many things. To me it was especially about the gift of being able to feel deeply.

Una historia bonita y melancólica, no tiene mas. No me llegó a la patata ni me hizo soltar la lagrimilla que era mas bien lo que esperaba. Es triste, lleno de injusticia e indiferencia por parte de nuestro protagonista que carece de emociones. Tal vez ese fuese el problema, que el narrador es el protagonista y lo vemos todo desde su punto de vista. No es un libro malo, es simple, bonito y triste a la vez.

I think this is my favorite book. It can be quite melodramatic and cliché but I can easily squeeze past through and still like it regardless. This is a great read. I think I cried five times while reading
interesting premise but loses steam and unravels into a bog standard young adult novel. bleh. disappointing.
