They walked on, without knowing in what direction. There was too much to be thought, and felt, and said, for attention to any other objects.
I honestly did not expect myself to love this book as much as I thought I would. The first half I read on paper, intrigued by the writing style and Austen's way with words, and after my hold expired, the second half I listened via audiobook (first time trying it!) and I was just in awe of the story and how... I was in awe of how much I swooned to be honest.
To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love.
The first half tickled the writer in me and the second half tickled the reader in me. This book has stood the test of time and I am officially an Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy believer. GET YOURSELF A MAN WHO WILL CHANGE HIS WAYS JUST SO YOU CAN LIKE HIM, NOT JUST SO YOU CAN LOVE HIM!!!
"My real purpose was to see you, and to judge, if I could, whether I might ever hope to make you love me."
Not even 'try' to make you love me, just 'hope', OHHH Mr. Darcy... how far you have come...
The happiness which this reply produced, was such as he had probably never felt before; and he expressed himself on the occasion as sensibly and as warmly as a man violently in love can be supposed to do.
I am very much looking forward to reading more of Austen's work and rereading this book... this first time around, I was far too focused on their slow-burn (and when I mean slow-burn, I mean get blankets and prepare for the winter) to focus on how masterfully Austen dissected the manners of pride in society.

Just. WOW, what a novel
