This one was a fun continuation of the first Dark Empire, although it got a little too out there at times. One of the problems with writing about a diverse group of alien races is the names of individuals can get a little weird and they just end up looking like nonsense words.

That said, still a fun read, even if the end wraps up a little too well and too quickly for me.

I only picked up Dark Empire because several sources seemed to concur that its plot was a major part of the Expanded Universe. Now, after having finished I and II, I'm just counting them as another nail in the coffin on non-Timothy Zahn Star Wars literature.

A good supplement to the story of Luke & his fall to the dark side. This story and its predecessor fill the gap in the SW EU between the birth of the Solo twins and the birth of Anakin Solo. Decent, not great, but worth a look by SW fans reading the complete SW timeline.
