I think this is a 3.5, leaning more towards a 4.
This was really engaging and suspenseful and I genuinely did not want to stop reading this. I absolutely needed to know what happened next.
I feel like the action was so fast moving, and then it dragged, and then it got really dramatic, and then it dragged. Also the ending is driving me crazy, because we’ve endured the dramatics and the suspense and the payoff felt not worth it. Also the author created these characters, gave them complex storylines and backgrounds and then left us with ✨nothing✨. I’m frustrated.
Also Lincoln made me want to yeet him over a fence I was so FRUSTRATED with him.

Very strong start for 2019, started when it was 2019 already, finished it on 1.1.2019.
I chose this book to be the one I'd read in first day of 2019 because I knew that the timeline was only three hours, and those kind of books are best when read quickly.
As I said, the time line was three hours. "Chapters" were named after minutes (for e.g: 18.34) and that added cool effect on the book.
Text on the back tells something about the story, but not the plot completely unlike many books unfortunately do.
At first I marked it as a five star book, but changed it to four. It was absolutely on my top 3 favourite thriller/crime books.
Writing style was nice and simple, nothing too much but there could have been something to spice it up a little. There were some beautiful lines.
One of the best things about this book is the fact that it didn't have big cliches.
Plot was original and horrifying and kept me hanging to the very end.
Reasons why I didn't give this five stars:
- if there was just one more plot twist (even a little one) to add something to it.
- there could've been more explaining in the ending. Not too much, but...
- there was a lot of scenes where there was nothing else but the main character running with her little boy Lincoln...
I liked this book very much and can recommend this book to everyone!
(if you don't read too much, this could be the one to get you excited! It is short - 300 pages - and I read it in one day.)
Sorry - english is not my first language. Let me know if you don't understand what I was trying to say!

3.5 stars for this one. I thought the premise sounded really good and I was really drawn in and had to finish it in two sittings. But the story could have been a little better and the ending was a let down. I did still really like it though.
