C'est le premier livre de Michael Connelly que je lis. Avec une nouvelle série et des nouveaux personnages, je me suis dis c'est l'occasion! J'ai bien aimé l'inspecteur Stilwell et sa ténacité dans son enquête. J'ai trouvé la première partie un peu longue. Par contre, quand les révélations arrivent, ça déboule! Peut-être un peu trop à la fin... Une lecture divertissante sans être un coup de cœur!

Stilwell seems like Harry Bosch-lite with no personality. I did enjoy reading about Catalina Island but it reaffirms my opinion that it's not worth going to. Definitely did not inspire me to want to visit.
It was fine. If I had not read the Harry Bosch series, would I have liked this more? Hard to say. It is the first book so maybe Stilwell gets developed a bit more.

Another fantastic book by Connelly. His characters aren’t perfect and I think that’s why I love these books so much. Sometimes as I read his books I’m frustrated by the characters choices, but that’s what keeps them human and keeps me coming back over and over.
