Wow! Wow! Wow! I almost had a heart attack starting this book. I can’t believe it’s the last novel of this series. I felt the pain from the beginning. Darion finding his mate burned across my heart. I smiled as he took on Selene. Their banter was funny. Lucan’s part hurt. I enjoyed this one so much, and even as the ride is ending, I still want more. I don’t want it to be over. I couldn’t put this one down. Lara Adrian has a way of making every word so descriptive that every page builds. Believe me you don’t want to miss this book! It was amazing!

5 stars - I loved it!
The final battle for peace is finally here and the Order is determined to bring down Opus Nostrum, the rogues, and the Ancient. They will even deal with the Atlantean queen if they have to.
This book was a wonderful conclusion for this series. It was everything I could have hoped for after spending the last ten years reading this series. Darion is definitely his father’s son. He is a born leader, a skilled tactician, and a protective breed male. I really loved learning more about him because his father, Lucan, was one of my favorite males in this series. Darion showed in this book that he is a skilled leader and is ruthless in his determination to bring peace. I liked him a lot, especially his determination to break down Selene’s barriers.
Selene is the Atlantean queen who has been an enemy to the Order, and their Atlantean outcast allies. I honestly didn’t like her in the previous books and expected to not really like her in this. Well, she grew on me. In the beginning she was the arrogant and ruthless queen you expect but once she let some of her emotions out she became a great heroine. She was extremely caring and protective and that has led her to go to extremes to protect her people and family. She is also wracked by guilt at her part in the original downfall of Atlantis and the death of her daughter. She has punished herself for centuries because of it and doesn’t really know how to be an emotional and normal person anymore. Darion breaks down those barriers though and she finally embraces life again.
The romance between these two was intense from the very beginning. They may be enemies but it doesn't stop their emotions. Selene does push Darion away a few times because she is afraid to let him know the true depths of her emotions, but I still enjoyed it. Their relationship was definitely very fast though considering these two are enemies, but the sparks have been flying between these two since previous books so it wasn’t a huge surprise to me.
The final battle between Opus Nostrum and the Ancient finally happens in this book. It was intense, bloody, and very emotional, but also a perfect ending for this series. There is also the threat of Red Dragon that is turning the breed into rogues. This drug impacts the Order majorly in this book and it was heartbreaking. I really thought I was going to cry at points.
Overall, this was a great ending for this series. This series has been with me for ten years now and is one of my favorites that I always recommend. While I am sad this series is over, I love that the Breeds, humans, and Atlanteans finally have peace and can focus on themselves now.
