After recovering from an opening scene that felt more horror than romance, (although, admittedly, Anita did a fabulous job at making even the most terrifying scenario adorable), I found myself instantly caring deeply for Alexei and Ben's journeys, both as individuals and together.
It's a slow burn of a story and not one for those looking for a fast paced, action filled read but it's thoughtful and sweet and, while heart breaking at times, really rather lovely.

Lex and Ben were adorable! I loved watching them fall for each other and also take theor time to grow and learn more about themselves both together and apart.

Normally I get bored with books like this because I don’t usually like when two characters both like each other right away, but this book had enough emotions to make up for the lack of angst

Alexi has been disowned by his homophobic shithead parents and his dealing with finding himself on the Pacific Crest Trail, where he keeps running into Ben, who is using the trail to take time to himself and figure out his future wants and process a family death and a shitty ex-bf.
Them continually finding each other and then walking together and being honest and open and growing and vulnerable is so gorgeous. These men are so sweet and perfect for each other omg.
