I enjoy following Cliff on Instagram at his account @dearmodern but I wanted more from this book.
Content: This book is a simplistic modern view of the foundations of Feng Shui and how to apply it to your home. It was easy to read but didn’t go in as much depth as I wanted. The examples given to a solution was often to change layouts but that’s not always possible. I think I would have liked to see a “bad, better, best” approach instead. It also did not give as much detail about Feng Shui as I was hoping and sometimes the view felt too simplistic.

This book is one of the rare instances where I saw it on TikTok and had to check it out, lol
This was good, for the most part. I didn’t learn anything life-changing, but Tan emphasized that most of feng shui is intuition and (surprise) I felt a lot of the advice was intuitive. Nuggets of info about feng shui’s traditional colors, animals, etc. was less useful, but still moderately interesting.

I’ve always been curious about the great art of feng shui & now, weeks before I move, I feel well informed thanks to this book! Will be referencing this often while rearranging my furniture in my new place! :)
