When Mr. Jones' mistreated farm animals revolt and take over the farm, they have ideas of equality, autonomy, and better treatment. And at the beginning, Animal Farm is everything they want and more. But slowly, their self-appointed rulers start to resemble their former oppressor.

«Napoleon produced no schemes of his own, but said quietly that Snowball’s would come to nothing, and seemed to be biding his time.»

And then it was Napoleon who forced everyone to finish the Snowball’s plan and presented it as his own brilliant and groundbreaking vision.

My Albanian fellows, make a slight effort to contextualize the cited sentence to the recent days on our country. It strucked me among many other passages of this book. Napoleon was a great great manipulative character, always admired and venerated by short-memoried and naïve comrades. Always looked up to and justified for his mischief in the name of general development, he resembles to some famous personalities of both past and current history of our country.

«No creature called any other creature ‘Master’. All animals were equal.»

Yes my dears. That was bullshit in Animal Farm. That’s a fact. To me it seems bullshit even somewhere else...

Don’t get me wrong. I won’t ever embrace the idea that everyone is equal and has to live on the same conditions as others. This would bring only misery for everyone. Nobody is intellectually identical to others. Therefore, they can’t be equal and enjoy same lifestyle. But everyone must have equal and same possibilities to show their potential and achieve the right spot to where they belong. We can’t pretend that ignorants and intellectuals belong to the same level. History has always shown that making all the same leads to misery and dictatorship.
