I was so so scared of this book. I was scared to be disappointed in the ending of my favorite characters but omg. Im... Omg. Its like a hug, all the emotions, it was a rollercoaster but at the end you get out and just feel empty in the best way. This is the best ending for these characters. I think no book ever had me crying this often. Its amazing.
Thank you Maggie

Not a proper review, just a collection of random thoughts. Who has time to write a full review? I do, but I’m too lazy to.
-It was kinda miserable but that’s what I expect from a last book of a series.
-I enjoyed most of it but was a bit disappointed by the main villain reveal.
-Would highly recommend listening to the audio book because the narrator really elevated the story.
-I love the way she describes art and famous pieces, you can tell the author is also a visual artist.
-I’m still not convinced of the main couple, even after…. 7 books in two series? Idk maybe I felt the romance felt a bit forced but it wouldn’t be a YA book without everyone hooking up?

So um wow.
This was a crazy ending to a crazy series. And I really don’t have full words right now.
I’ll start by saying that Ronan just means so so much to me and I’m so glad his story continued in this series. And I’m so glad he was able to choose his path for himself and stop feeling so stuck in the middle between Greywarren and humanity.
I loved Declan’s arc. From learning to step outside his comfort zone with how to engage with keeping Matthew and Ronan safe, to learning to love Jordan and become more of himself. It was just so good.
Hennessy really had me falling for her by the end. She learned to become her own person outside of Jordan and I loved that for her. Also…her friendship with Ronan popping out at the end really made the whole book brighter.
And Matthew is just precious. Even his silly little rebellious phase wasn’t that bad. My sweet summer child. I’m so glad he didn’t actually die.
But god this book was so distressing. The amount of hopelessness packed into it was overwhelming. I hated that Ronan was asleep for the majority of the book. That was a bummer since he’s such a dynamic person. I didn’t get to see him move much of the plot forward. I also felt like there were too many characters for Stiefvater to keep track of. There was hardly any Jordan and hardly any Matthew.
But the wedding at the end!!!! And the proposal!!!! It was perfect. Perfect for both couples in every way. I adored it.
I’m so sad this series is over. But I’m so happy I found it when I did. Waiting for each book killed me. But it was worth the whole experience. I’m sad this world won’t be explored further. But I think we ended on a high note.
