This book had a medium pace. I was still interested in the story but the pace felt slower than in previous books in the series. The plot was good and I liked the conclusion to the series, but it didn't feel as exciting as before, despite my love for the characters.

All I could think throughout most of the book was "poor Ronan (and Bryde)"! I felt frustrated on his behalf, being unable to move but to see everything. It was such a relief when he came back to his human self, and it was fitting that he fixed everything with the help of the other dreamers. As happy as I was for Ronan and Adam together, I couldn't forgive Adam's betrayal. Adam did return to his true self and Ronan in the end, but I disliked everything else he did.

Furthermore, I despised Hennessy. She was a selfish mess and ruined everything. At least she fixed the mess she made in the end, but it shouldn't have taken Jordan to catalyse Hennessey's healing. Jordan deserved better and I was  glad she got her happiness in the end. It was fantastic when she stood up to Hennessy.

Declan was so wonderful in the book, and he was a great brother. He went through quite a healing journey himself, though he didn't treat Matthew right. He didn't see Matthew as a person, just another dream to handle, and it was awesome when Matthew punched him. I felt so bad for Matthew, trying to live but being manipulated, but he came through in the end by helping Bryde. It was nice learning about Niall and Mór's backstory too, and interesting to know how Ronan was made.

Liliana was the absolute worst of the characters, and I'd go as far as saying she was worse than Nathan. She was manipulating everyone around her, acting all sweet and nice but ruining everything for her own selfish gain. I felt bad for Carmen, who was basically a pawn in everyone else's games. She really had to deal with a lot of trauma and I was glad she shot Nathan for real.

Finally, I really appreciated the epilogue to the story. Everything was resolved well and there were some great cameos from the Raven Boys crew. It all ended happily ever after!

Shout out to Will Patton for bringing the world to life!

Delayed reading this book for months afraid of an unhappy ending. Happy to have been wrong.

What can I say, it's the end of an era. Though I gave it 5 stars I don't know if I'll ever form a real opinion of this book. I acknowledge a decade of biases, although I can still see certain seams where if you pull hard enough all the years of Stiefvater vs. the fandom starts spilling out (ie. the epilogue). Overall, a satisfying and beautifully written ending to an epic.

"She was not the only reason why they'd left, but she was one of the big three, particularly after Niall's father had died (vodka rinsing him away over time like the letters on a sign)."

This one had me invested in the series again. It's a great ending.

May have been the best thing I’ve ever read tbh

THEY GET TO BE HAPPY AT THE END!!!! (Also I am so sorry to Ronan Lynch you went through so much)

(Audiobook - will patton adds so much to the recordings). Re-read. Read this when it came out and honestly didn’t remember a single thing from it except from the passage abt baby Declan preventing mor and neil from killing ronan. Really enjoyed the mor and neil chapters… him choosing to forget Declan’s birth because it “made him so happy he could die” kills me 💔💔. Welcome to the Declan lynch show. Love the characters too much to give anything under a four but the plot kind of fizzled out for me. Matthew’s crisis is solved bc he had a chat with bryde? And bryde sort of just becomes this nothing character after playing such a central role? Encounter with Nathan left something to be desired… just felt anticlimactic (also big bad was an Arab that used bombs to kill…). Felt rushed but also like nothing happened? ALSO mor and fake neil living in the barns after everything??? What?? In what universe would ronan not kill himself over this?? Just got mad again.

Loved Hennessy’s character development - being able to defeat the lace and help others (save adam)  - antithesis to her at the beginning of the trilogy. Made a copy of herself sans trauma and that copy ends up happy and fulfilled…. Much to think abt.

#problematicopinion but Matthew should have stayed dead… felt like everything was too easy, no stakes if everyone ends up being fine (bryde dies but who gaf).

Ok Bryde as a manifestation of ronan’s depression (as said by Matthew) and he dies(?)… so ronan conquers depression lol.

This review is a mess - this u universe has been with me so long - lots of feelings. Wtf.
