I put off reading this book for so long just because I didn't want the series to end. Greywaren gave me everything I wanted and more and I loved every moment.

Beautifully written, wonderfully narrated. This book just cemented my love for Stiefvater’s characters and it’s a bit bittersweet to leave them but everyone’s arc was satisfying. With some mind-bending elements and plenty of magical wonder, I’m sure this book will stick with me. Every emotion described in this book becomes mirrored in myself when I read it, and it is just incredible how Stiefvater makes the reader connect with her characters, setting, and story.
It was a good ending, very different then the raven cycle but still nice.
Overall trilogy rating + comments:
- hennessy made this seriously unbearable to read
- i tolerated these books for jordan and declan and carmen (though carmen only for the second half of mister impossible & on)
- i've been a huge pynch hater since trc and unfortunately that hasn't ebbed
- i hate when series end on marriages/engagements even if it's a couple i like
- not enough henry cheng. i don't like stiefvater much bc i first read trc years and years ago before call down the hawk came out and it was so overwhelmingly white and then henry cheng was treated so terribly and i hoped he'd be more relevant but ig not. props to having more poc in this series though i guess
- i hate hennessy x carmen
- perhaps it's a good sign that we're at a point where i don't feel like i have to praise every lgbt representation bc i hate pynch & hennessy x carmen
onto my next ill-advised (re)read (aftg...☹️)

i think finishing this last book made me realize how little it felt like this series gave me. were my expectations too high? perhaps?

This was such a fun trilogy. I love the way it wrapped up. It's so bittersweet to be done.

how am I supposed to rate these books? I love them with my whole heart but there are so many flaws. this finale healed a kind of grief I’ve been carrying since my youth and it carried some beautiful themes. I think some of the relationships were well explored/resolved and some weren’t. there were a lot of the similar issues I had with the raven king - weak plot, weak epilogue, characters that were only there to move the plot along, too many loose ends (a LOT of loose ends). but what the raven cycle did so well that this trilogy missed was showing not telling, and focusing on internal motivation of the core characters rather than just reacting to external forces.
