I was like, “Oh, another rushed storyline conclusion to an Mstief series, who’d have thought,” and then Pynch engagement happened and I cried real tears.
I put off reading the sequels for a long time because I loved TRC so much and was scared of what I would find. Much like in the original series, I’d say that the characters are a strength but that the plot is decidedly not, and that the sequels do both of these things worse. I loved the new characters, the development of some of the OG characters (Declan Lynch terminal eldest daughterism meets depressed single dad I would die for you), and the character dynamics (I fell hard for Jordan and Declan but also: Ronan and Hennessy!!!) but I think Maggie’s favoritism for Ronan kinda overpowered this last book. And the plot… Well.If I had a nickel for every time the major antagonist was introduced and defeated within the last quarter of the last book in a series… I would have one more nickel.
Do I think the sequels are essential reading for TRC fans? Eh. (Unless you were one of the rare Declan Lynch shooters in 2016, in which case you’ve definitely read this trilogy by now anyway.) But am I glad I got around to reading the sequels eventually? Absolutely. This series was really important to me (Adam Parrish unironically changed my life), so despite its flaws, I’m glad the sequels gave us the chance to hang on to these characters a little bit longer. I know I said the plot was rushed but I also love happy endings so idrc. Everyone gets married forever! Hurray!!!

Maggie Stiefvater the woman that you are
Side note- can’t believe she made me wait until the literal epilogue to finally get the band back together. I cried. A lot.

This book is the final installment in the Dreamer Trilogy. The audio book includes bonus material. I would recommend this entire three part series to all fans of fantasy and world building.

ready to feel awful for days because it's really all over for me. i thought i would be okay but then the epilogue happened and i felt the heartbreaks and heartBURSTS of many hours of reading this world. ronan lynch you're so loved and so human. where do i go now what do i do?
i'm glad i revisited this world after a few years and got to love it in its entirety. maggie stiefvater's world of the raven cycle has characters that are so human there are fragments of us everywhere. and it will be okay.
