I'm so obsessed with this Author. Yea there isn't a whole lot of story in this book, it's very short, but you bet I'm going to devour this entire series!

Ok so I wouldn’t know this was a first book by Skye Black. It was well written and she knows just what to do to grab your attention. Chance Encounter was a novella chock full of steam upon steam. I want to say it’s the perfect lunchtime quickie read, but this spicy baby may have you wanting to take matters into your own hands so it may be safer to read at home. You get totally immersed into Chandler and Xavier’s story. The exploration into new and exciting sexual activity for Chandler had the kindle pages lit like an inferno. I was like a kid in a kinky candy store and loved every minute! I had no idea this baby was ending on a cliff but I’m excited to know there’s more Chandler and Xavier to come.

This is a smutbuster without a doubt. Was literally just under 200 pages of chapter after chapter of spicy encounters. There is no content of any real depth in this book but it’s not meant to be that so it definitley did what it set out to do.
My e book did not have any trigger warnings and I think that should definitley have been there. The spice was intense and went through a range of kinks so definitley should have had triggers very clearly labelled.

Skye Black is a debut author you are going to want to keep your eye on!
While I struggled a bit with the sentence flow/variation in the first chapter, the writing style diversity picked up quickly and so did the spice! Whew!
Chandler meets a mysterious and dangerous man named Xavier on a luxury vacation in an attempt to escape her boring life. Their attraction to each other is immediate and let's just say when Xavier knows he wants something, he gets it. This man has all of the possessive and dominant vibes that I love in a love interest, while still ensuring consent and safety of Chandler during their rendezvous.
Definitely check TWs since this book is all about Xavier showing Chandler the sweet release of the BDSM lifestyle. While I wouldn't consider this a dark romance yet, it definitely is not a lighthearted one. I really respect this author for not only including a large variety of kinks (nothing taboo), but also showing "introduction" and aftercare for most of the scenes Xavier and Chandler have together. Many similar books have their characters just... jump right in... which is fine for fiction, but I definitely appreciate showing aspects of safety and comfort that are critical in a real dom/sub relationship.
I love the content, the characters, everything about this book! While there wasn't a lot of background for the characters, I think this was intentional because it was supposed to keep Xavier as much of a mystery to us as he is to Chandler (she doesn't know much about him due to his dangerous job and lifestyle). They are meant to only see each other one weekend a month, and to be so caught up in the sex, that they don't have time to sit around and talk about their hopes and dreams. It makes sense to me, but if you need a lot of backstory for you to feel connected to spicy scenes, you probably won't find that in the first book of this series. You will find a main character that finds strength in submission though, which is definitely hard to portray!

Have to read the rest of the series to see what happens!

This was a first time read by this author & it’s novella. It was intense, smutty, & did I say smutty. Lol if you love bdsm and intense s3x this is a good read. It left me intrigued of the things he was doing to her. But overall I enjoyed it. Definitely check triggers 18+

This book was all smut and zero plot until the last few pages when it was left with an ending leading into a 2nd book. I really enjoyed it up until about 50% when it was obvious there was going to be no actual story and it became repetitive and felt like the author was trying too hard to keep it spicy.
This wasn’t for me but I would recommend it in a heartbeat to someone into book porn with a serious 50 shades of grey kink
