Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This series reminds the reader of the joys of storytelling and diving into the heart of stories. I think I liked the introduction to the series more than this middle installment, but I'd like to see how Tilly's story develops and where to find The Archivists.

Interesting story for the second book in this series. I liked the Paris setting for part of the story and the fairy tale elements of the story line. Good read.

The second instalment in the Pages & Co series continues a little while after the events of the first book. There are staffing changes in the Underlibrary, and there are new characters causing disruption and mistrust among the Librarians. It was better paced than the first, if only by a little, but still felt a little too slow / meandering in the middle. Though… if there is a plot point in the last book that sheds like on this, it would be quite amazing. I thought Tilly acted a bit out of character (vs Book 1) in this one, and I hope things right themselves soon! (Even if it is always interesting to read about the lashing out of children hitting puberty.) I’ll have to source the next, as this ended with more questions than I had at the start!
