I was a beta reader for, and received an ARC of, this story for review purposes. The author requested a review but made no conditions for it. I am writing this review based solely on my enjoyment of this story in particular, and the author's writing overall. I have followed Mr. Penmore's work for just over a year as of this entry, and have enjoyed watching the evolution of his skill and creativity.

Michael Penmore has given us another exciting story that fills out his Science Consortium Universe. This time, we are introduced to Isabel Rocarion, a gunrunner working both sides of the Earth - Colonial War. She's no-nonsense and isn't afraid to tell everyone just what is on her mind. Also in Escape from Rockwall, we are re-introduced to two favorites from Mr. Penmore's Prox Doom story.
The war is going badly for the colonials and Isabel has arrived just in time... to collect her payment. All she wants is to retire to a nice out of the way colony where she can relax for the rest of her days in comfort. Colonial Leadership has other plans for her. What follows is a, sometimes, chaotic dash to finish this one last job. And to so it, she is forced to become something she is not. A smuggler.
Plots and plans and action aplenty are in store for you. I whole-heartedly recommend this latest adventure cooked up by Michael Penmore. He keeps getting better with every story he publishes.
