This wasn't even slightly how I expected it'd be but it was such a thrilling ride! So unexpected the plot, but really intriguing mystery that ran just oh so deep.

The characters where really fun, the cast was kept pretty small so you really got to know the characters - however there's not that much in terms of character development honestly. With the very fast pacing there's not too much focus on them but what we got was very fun, and Agatha is a very easy-to-follow MC! Though this is a case of "children written like they're much older" because *wow* these literal children get into way too much danger and severe risk to their lives and somehow stumble out of it fine.

The plot was very thrilling and mysterious for sure. There's not really twists per-se, but the reveals at the end were quite good and I didn't really guess what that'd be (though I also didn't try to in all honesty haha, I read it too fast to really concentrate on trying to "solve" it but I also don't think you're meant to). I read it in pretty much a single setting, it kept me really hooked in and I really wanted to see it through which was quite nice!

If you want a fast paced, not overly deep but shocking pretty dark at points mystery-thriller then this is a read for you!

The book really builds close to the end, is definitely a book you should read.

The beginning was very good but tbh the ending was a little muddled up, I had to read the last few chapters a number of times to understand what actually happened. The story was really good but the writing kinda spoiled it for me... Nevertheless, I don't regret reading this book and will surely read the sequels
