Suspense isn’t my go-to genre but I really enjoyed this one! It was fast-paced and really interesting.

I really liked the main characters, Lainie and James. I really loved that they had known each other for years since Lainie and James’ sister were best friends. It was also really sweet that Lainie had a crush on James since high school and he had no idea. It made their romance a cute and fun one to read. Their love and respect for each other was sweet.💙

I also enjoyed the subplot centering around James and his complicated relationship with his dad.
I also enjoyed the faith content!

Sometimes books in this genre are too creepy for my taste but I didn’t find this one to be too disturbing or creepy for me personally. While there are some disturbing and creepy parts to the story (like the stalking), I didn’t find that those parts kept me from enjoying the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed Double Take! I’m interested in reading more about this friend group since they all seem really cool and have interesting careers!

This book starts out tense and really never lets up. Lainie goes through so much in this story in her own personal life and with a background of family issues. James of course is around to help her out with perfect timing. But how they get their HEA is full of twists and turns.

The mystery in this book was fairly unique and really keeps you guessing. The police work to find the bad guy keeps the story moving but not quite as fast paced as I was expecting with how the book opened.

Since this is Christian fiction the romance moves slow and never progresses past flutters and kisses but it was organic and realistic. James was the perfect protective guy. Lainie was in need of protection. We all know how that ends.

I will definitely grab book two to read when it comes out

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
