The one basking in infinite glory is you; the fallen from grace is also you. What matters is 'you', and not the state of you. No matter what's happened in the past, I will never leave you.
It's been a long journey and I have been delaying writing a review for a few days. Since I read MDZS first, I guess I'm gonna compare them, intentionally or unintentionally, throughout the review.
Firstly, I think MXTX has a similar plotline for these two since the things that were supposed to surprise me didn't. I was always like "I knew it, I had a feeling all along," etc. The only thing that surprised me was Qi Rong's identity since I did not think over it at all. On the other hand, White-No-Face's real identity was not a surprise to me. Not at all. I just KNEW something was wrong with him but I didn't expect how he went berserk like that. You just needed a good therapist, White-No-Face my friend.
Hua Cheng and Lan WangJi had the same kind of loyal love and I love them for it. It was incredible to read how a person can hold onto their love all these years, I'm talking about CENTURIES for Hua Cheng. I just wish I could read more scenes where Hua Cheng and Xie Lian loved each other freely BECAUSE I NEED IT!!! I read all those political shit for the sake of them and I didn't get to see enough of them, sadly.
I just scream internally even while writing this review. They are just so precious and I'm forever grateful for MXTX for her ability creating this magic on me & thousands of other people.
and this poem right below BROKE me. Thank you.

3.5!
Not bad. Very entertaining and engaging story with a sweet romance. San Lang’s love was so real like jeez he is a ride or die hoe for his highness, actually, he goes beyond that. Goddamnnn!! I was disappointed with the ending though. It was rushed. I was expecting the fight scene to go crazy with a badass feral Xie Lian but it was anticlimactic as fuck! Like seriously? It left a bad taste in my mouth. What an extremely boring fight scene. Anyway, the friendship with Feng, mu, and Xie was so cute, I wanted to beat mu ass multiple times but he redeemed himself in the end. Liked the world-building. Side characters were interesting and fun. My favorite is Wind Master, so lovable and loud. Qi Ying too. Also, the author drags out the story far too long at times and it's unbearable! Liked the story but definitely not as impressed with it as I was with Mo Dao Zushi.

There aren’t enough words to describe how much I loved this book from beginning to end, but I’ll try.
This is one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve ever read, full of plot twists and with lots of lovable characters. Also, Xie Lian, the protagonist, is one of the best protagonists (not to say the best) I’ve ever come across.
It’s a little disappointing how some issues aren’t really addressed, but I like how it leaves place for headcanons. It isn’t a flaw per se, so I’m still giving this book 5 stars.
In conclusion, if you happen to see this review and you’re considering whether you should or shouldn’t read it, do it. You won’t regret it at all.

What is there even to say about this series? It might seem strange to call a 2000+ page series “fast paced” but it really feels quick given the number of adventures and shenanigans that happen. The romance and backstory also build in a way that makes me think some scenes will hit much differently on a reread, and I love that kind of foreshadowing hidden in plain sight.
