Honestly thought the ending felt a little bit rushed; I wasn't really able to catch what was going on – then again, it could be because I read it sporadic bursts, so the continuity wasn't really there for me. I really enjoyed that while there was a big bad (AKA Jun Wu), most of the time many of the characters were rather morally grey. It was painful to walk through Xielian and Huacheng's 8000 year journey, so I was glad at the end when they found each other again.
this is what true love is, if you’re not willing to die for your beloved Over And Over And Over just to be able to protect them even if they might not love u back NO ONE WANTS U
i’ve read this book Multiple times, probably going on the 5th rn and i’m absolutely obsessed.

I. Did. It.
When you read a 3,000 page book because you saw some fanart on tiktok.
I thought this was going to be similar to reading MDZS but boy did I underestimate the length and breadth of this work by MXTX. Besides being twice as long, the plot and side stories of this series is a little bit all of over the place but it's worth it. For the payout that we get I would even re-read book 3 again. Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are literally the best most perfect people for each other and the EMOTIONS I feel thinking about Hua Cheng's devotion and love through multiple lifetimes gets me every time. I need me someone who will simp for 800 years and barely tolerate other people. Oh to be Xie Lian.
On a more serious note even though parts of the story seemed to drag (I think this is just the fault of not reading in the original language and it being serialized) there was some good depth and MXTX did what she did best in creating a complex cultivation world that made the story all the more interesting. I also liked the structure more than MDZS in that we weren't just going back and forth from the present to the past constantly and instead had clearly marked books that dealt in the past and present. Also book 4 indeed almost killed me.
I can't wait for the second season of the anime (the first was absolutely GORGEOUS) and the pics I saw from the initial shootings of the show look promising. I'm just excited for this one to become as popular as MDZS and am excited to have the English licensed copies on my shelf as well!
Now I'm off to buy all the pretty pins and jewelry I saw on etsy! bye!
p.s. Those extras were absolutely buck wild and I have nothing to say my god

u would think this novel is unnecessary long but in truth it's still not enough.

“Last time, they spent 800 years running towards each other. This time, it only took an instant to fall into each other’s embrace.”
