This one just didn't do it for me... I've enjoyed the other 2 of this series I've read so far, and I basically only stuck with it in hopes the Bradfords could come in and save it, but alas, no such luck.
Conner is just an A$$, all around. His character made me cringe more than anything, and I honestly hoped Rory would just kick his butt and move on to another character in the book. That would have made me happier.
The constant back-and-forth irritation between the 2 that just magically fall in love... I just cant.

Read this if you want childhood enemies to professional rivals to lovers, just a touch of forced proximity as well
They do not have boundaries, they have committed many *many* crimes against each other. Frankly, it's a miracle neither of them was imprisoned for a prolonged period of time.
Overuse of hot cocoa, it got the the point where I wanted to block and erase those words and also never drink one ever again.

I greatly enjoyed the first story in this series, but they seem to be going downhill the further I get into this series.

"Checkmate" je jako zabavna knjiga, kao što sam i očekivala. Često sam se smejala.
Rory je jaka žena i ne trpi nikakva sra*a od Connora otkad su bili deca. Sad su oboje odrasli i imaju zabrane od skoro svakog javnog mesta zbog njihovog međusobnog prepucavanja. Kad spominjem zabrane, braća Bredford i njihove žene su se vratili! :)
Connor: "Push me and you might just find yourself locked in the trunk of a car and on a ferry headed off to Nova Scotia. . . again" he said softly loving the way she practically shook with rage against him.
"I knew that was you, you bastard" She snarled, looking torn between going for his nipples again or just out right killing him.
"You deserved it", he felt obligated to remind her.
She scoffed. "I was twelve!"
"You super glued my shorts to my ass!"
The smile that teased her lips transformed her face from beautiful to breathtakingly beautiful in a matter of seconds. . .
She chuckled softly as she moved to put a little space between them. "I actually forgot about that".
