Well written collection of (mostly) dark short stories, many of which I wished were longer.

Great batch of stories...some more intriguing than others. But love the tie to the overall theme.

This short story collection is sad and literary. Of course I enjoyed it!  What can you expect? Plenty of food, bisexuality, tension, and desperation.

I LOVED: Christopher Gonzalez is amazing at adding suffocating emotions and humour into his stories.

I HATED: in my opinion most of these stories should have been longer. (I think I just want a novel from this writer.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

My favourite stories:

Better Than All That — a man reunites with his butthead high school friends and sets out on a night filled with BETRAYAL.

Little Moves - a man mourns a sister that he hated with a sister that he loves.

Half Hearted - what if you could get open heart surgery to fix your emotional limitations???

Tag-a-Long - a saucy story about people at a bar, all of them in dynamics they don’t fully grasp.

VERDICT: I will be keeping a look out for Christopher Gonzalez’s future books! A nice debut!

i don't know if i could say i liked these (so many were depressing af) but it was remarkable how quickly and easily i could fall into a character's life when some of them only got two pages to snatch me up.
