Okay!! I loved this book. The only reason a star is getting knocked is because I hate purposeful miscommunication. Miss me with that. But I enjoyed both the main characters, the magic was cool, the set up for future books seems awesome, and the writing is great! Will definitely be reading the second one!

The audiobook narrators are some of the best I’ve heard in recent memory. That said, the book is maybe 20% plot and character development and about 80% sex, which is just not my preference in those ratios.

i have THOUGHTS

the epilogue really made up for the middle of it bc this was the worlds biggest slow burn that i had to take breaks

this has potential to be amazing and i’m holding onto that

BUT i hate when the mmc thinks the only way to save the girl is to be a huge dick to her……..i see his reasoning and that’s another reason i liked the book, bc their POVS were so detailed and intricate

Started off strong but then we lost the plot. It felt as if someone stopped editing the book halfway through because they got tired.

Overall a decent start but I put it down and haven’t been in the mood to read it again.. will DNF and maybe revisit if the series picks up with a strong sequel.
