Greek mythology, bondage and romance.

I read because someone else described it as god tier. I really liked it but I’m not sure if I’d give it a full 5 stars.

Please note you will be hankering for the next book and there will be several. Just piling up my stack of cliffhangers, begging for answers.

I need more hype on the book socials for Of Blood and Aether!!!! I loved this. It’s individual and lush, with unique magic, witty banter, and an immersive world. Friends to lovers isn’t always my preferred trope, but this had some of the best tension and yearning I’ve read in a romantasy in a while. The slow burn is excellent and perfectly timed for maximum effect. Loved how diverse this cast of characters was— LGBTQIA+ representation for both our main characters and almost all supporting characters as well! I had my heart shattered at the end which only makes me more excited for book two. Recommend this one highly for fans of LJ Andrews and Callie Hart, or anyone who enjoys a darker romantasy with a little bite to it!

Hard DNF.

I was sixteen chapters in waiting for it to actually stop being a predictable trope laced book. Trope - underprivileged girl who has immense power comes to the big city. Trope - Shadow daddy who’s the most handsome fuck boy. Trope - He’s already attracted to her and shes the best thing to ever cross this path. I could list more but I would be writing all day.

It’s lame. I’m not even sorry.

There’s some LGBTQIA representation but the characters who are come across as one dimensional. Again, trope - obligatory gay/lesbian best friend who’s a wild card.

DNF-ed at like 22%
So many words without saying anything!
The little nicknames were cringy and their banter left so much to be desired.
