This was way too short to be enjoyable for me, didn't think it contained enough to make a good story. Felt like someone told me a story I couldn't hear properly

On a cultural level (if not a literary level), this is perhaps the most important poem written in the last 200 years, singlehandedly defining the St. Nicholas myth and spawning the rampant Christmas commericalism of the modern era. You can decide for yourself if this is a bad thing or not. Me, I'll continue to read these words every year and continue to derive enjoyment out of them.

Do you have to stop believing in good things?

Isn't it fun to believe that there is a wise old guy who lives in the North Pole making toys and travels in a flying sleigh & delivers gifts to thousands of children.

A visit from St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore is a classis Christmas poem. A fun & a short read.

We didn't really read Christmas themed stories in my house growing up, so I'm only now, at the age of 20, reading this for the first time. I of course new the first few opening lines, since they appear in several movies, but I didn't know the rest.

I enjoyed it! It's easy to see why it's a classic. It's a great Christmas story that really has that Christmasy atmosphere and feel. It reminded me of Christmas Eve's from when I was a child, and sneaking out of bed to try and get a glimpse of Santa. Also, Holly Hobbie, who did the illustrations for the edition I read, did an amazing job. It really made me wish for and miss the snowy white Christmases I had growing up in Michigan.
